Many sensitive women don’t realize they’re relating to love, support, and success through a very old nervous system map.
A map that was created when they were too young to know that the level of care they received wasn’t necessarily the level that is available to them now.
If your early experience involved inconsistency, emotional unavailability, or carrying more than a child should have to carry, a younger part have learned: maybe this is as good as it gets.
That experience isn’t only a belief, it lives in your body as a felt sense of what life allows.
Children don’t just learn who they are from their environment. They also learn what relationships, support, and love are supposed to feel like.
Our nervous system takes in those experiences and begins building a picture of what is normal, available, and safe to expect.
The body often treats those early conclusions as the only reality that exists for you, because that’s the only reality it has experienced.
You can imagine it as a map that guides your current experience of love, visibility, and support that’s made of the data points your system has collected along the way.
And this is why the somatic work we do together is not simply about thinking more positively or telling yourself something better is possible. Your body needs new felt experiences that slowly update the map from the inside.
A child doesn’t look at an inconsistent, unavailable, or overwhelmed environment and think, the adults couldn’t give more.
More often, their system concludes: this is the amount of love, care, and support available to me. And it begins treating that amount of support as familiar and safe.
But every child wants to feel precious to someone. To be chosen, cared for, and delighted in without having to earn their place by being helpful, easy, or being responsible for more than they should.
What women I work with often discover is that the younger part isn’t looking for more advice or self-improvement.
She’s looking for the experience she needed all along: someone who stays with her no matter what, listens, protects, and cares.

This is the heart of the work we do in The Sanctuary and 1:1 somatic sessions: helping that younger part stop waiting for the outside world to finally give her a different ending, and begin experiencing steadiness, care, and protection in your own body now.
The nervous system heals through relationship. In somatic work, we begin creating that relationship from the inside.
Every time the younger part experiences acceptance instead of pressure, support instead of being responsible for everything alone, a new “destination” gets added to the map.
Over time, those moments begin creating a new map your system uses to orient itself in life. A map where love, mutuality, and support become increasingly familiar and available to you.
This is how we build the new results – through repeated moments where your body learns, “This is also available to me now.”
You find yourself naturally gravitating toward friends and partners who are warm, consistent, and emotionally available.
You are less fascinated with potential and your body feels more appreciation for and joy around people who already have the capacity to show up.
You notice that if someone’s presence repeatedly leaves your body feeling uneasy, tense, or like you have to earn their attention, you simply lose interest.
Your energy goes toward people and relationships where you can be yourself.
You don’t have to force yourself to choose better. Your body begins to recognize what feels supportive, mutual, and real.
Your system over time slowly opens up to small moments of receiving.
You notice a sunny day and take it in fully. You cook a delicious meal and notice how well you’re taking care of yourself, or you go for a walk simply to enjoy it and feel: this is just for me, nothing needs to be done or achieved right now.
You are finishing work for the day and for the first time you are really allowing yourself to be finished. There’s less urgency in your body to squeeze more out of yourself or your day and more trust that your work can continue tomorrow and support you too.
You have now intentionally built the capacity to notice how often life is already supporting you. A helpful conversation, an unexpected opportunity, a moment of clarity on a walk, or someone showing up for you all become easier to receive and enjoy.
This is one of the beautiful shifts I see through this work: your body stops only scanning for what is missing, and starts having more capacity to notice the goodness that is available.
Through simple somatic practices inside The Sanctuary portal and in one-on-one sessions, we slow your nervous system down enough for you to see what type of map your body has been using in the background.
The patterns that once felt like “just who I am” start revealing themselves as adaptations.
You see clearly the old assumptions, expectations, and relationship patterns that once felt like “as good as it gets”.
From there, you’ve created the space to choose from the present instead of automatically creating from an old map.
This is where your adult Self begins to lead more of your life. Not from urgency, lack, or waiting to be chosen, but from steadiness, choice, and the support you are learning to feel inside.

As we stay with those moments together, you begin meeting the younger part of you that learned to build relationships and pursue goals from a place of scarcity, effort, or waiting to be chosen.
Little by little, your present-day Self becomes more available (the part of you that has access to resources, perspective, and the steadiness of this moment).
And the younger part starts realizing she no longer has to figure everything out alone.
As your present Self becomes stronger and more accessible, that younger part starts feeling something new: support, companionship, and the sense that someone capable is finally here with her.
Somatic work makes this process available and very practical. You learn how to notice activation, pause with it, offer warmth to the younger part, and stay connected to yourself in the exact moments where you used to reach, prove, overgive, or brace.
Your body begins learning that support doesn’t only arrive when you get everything right, work hard enough, or make yourself useful. You start experiencing care, connection, appreciation, and love as something that can meet you exactly where you are and as you are.
Your system then begins collecting new evidence.
Evidence that connection and relationships can remain even when you’re imperfect. That support can be present on simple uneventful days when you didn’t have to “earn” it. That your value isn’t constantly being evaluated.
These experiences gradually create a new relationship with yourself and a new relational map.
Life no longer feels like something you have to keep up with or earn. You now get to participate in it, enjoy it, and create it.
You are starting to feel more like an adult with choice in your own life: present, steady, and supported by the relationship you’ve built with yourself.
You have more room to enjoy your relationships, your work, and simple days because your system isn’t living in the past anymore bracing for scarcity and lack.
This is the result we are practicing toward: your body becoming more available for love, support, work, visibility, and simple goodness without treating them like something you have to chase or prove yourself worthy of.
Somatic work works because it is built through small, consistent moments of felt experience.
You don’t force yourself into a new mindset, your body gradually experiences a different way of living and being in the world and in your relationships.
Over time, your nervous system becomes more available to receive what is here, love, support, opportunities, connection, because it is not constantly preparing for what is lacking.
And because we are changing the relationship you have with yourself, you are fully in charge of it. You no longer have to wait for someone or something else to change.
This is what makes the process so empowering. You are not trying to control life, people, or outcomes. You are building the inner environment that allows you to engage in life from more safety, openness, and choice.
Through simple body-based practices, the way you respond to activation, and the way you learn to stay with yourself in everyday moments, you create a different environment inside of you and around you.
In many ways, this environment becomes the home the younger part of you was always looking for. A place where she feels valued, protected, supported, and no longer alone.
And from that home inside you, love, support, visibility, and success no longer feel so far away or so emotionally charged. They become experiences your body can slowly let in and enjoy.
If you’d like support with this, The Sanctuary private portal offers a growing library of somatic practices and bi-weekly modules designed to help you build a steadier relationship with yourself and create more room for love, support, and mutuality in your life. I’m there with you replying to questions and offering support so you are not doing the work alone.
Inside The Sanctuary, we practice updating this old map through gentle, body-led work: meeting younger parts, building self-contact, increasing your capacity to receive, and helping your nervous system recognize that more love, support, and steadiness are available to you now.
If you prefer deeper individual support, you can apply for One-on-One Somatic Work, where we gently work with the old maps your nervous system has been living from and help your body build new experiences of support, connection, and possibility.
In 1:1 work, we slow this down in a very personal way, so the patterns that have shaped your relationships, work, receiving, and sense of what is possible can begin to change at the level of your body.
