Letting Yourself Be Seen by the Right People and Opportunities

Posted on

In my work I see so many kind, empathic, ambitious women waiting to be chosen by people who were never truly available for them.

Over time, this teaches their nervous system that love must be earned through patience, being overly understanding, or making themselves smaller.

And often, that same pattern is showing up in their work too, where they feel like they constantly have to prove that they and their skills are enough instead of them being naturally recognized, appreciated and valued.

This usually looks like:

• “teaching” a man how to show up instead of noticing whether he already has the capacity to meet you at your level emotionally, intellectually, and relationally
• spending more energy understanding other people’s childhood, stress, fears, or emotional patterns than noticing how those relationships feel for you
• at work, looking for the “right strategy” before trusting your own depth, skills, and creativity
• over-extending, over-giving, or over-explaining to prove how capable you are instead of letting your work naturally reflect your value and expertise

What makes all the difference for a woman who’s already very self-aware and capable is learning what healthy relationships feel like in her body.

Because when your body has experienced only love through effort, mutuality can feel unfamiliar at first.

An available partner comes toward you too. They are already interested in you and see how amazing you are without you having to deserve it, earn it, or teach them.

Healthy work supports you back. You have enough space to focus on your skills and strengths and don’t worry about being received well.

This is the change we build toward together in somatic work. When a capable woman no longer feels like she has to dim her light to stay connected to others, while consistently feeling lovable, whole, and enough, she creates a healthy relational field inside and outside of herself.

Your relationships begin to rebalance naturally. You feel the difference between someone who is genuinely available and someone who needs to be pulled forward, reassured, or taught how to care.

Your body becomes drawn to people who already know how to show up, communicate, and bring their own steadiness, effort, and consideration.

You begin losing interest in dynamics where your nervous system has to do all the reaching. Not because you are trying to be detached, but because your body is becoming more honest about what actually feels good.

Over time, as you give your system the experience of healthy relationships over and over again through the body-led work we practice inside The Sanctuary, your nervous system realizes that you can have love, opportunities, and success that feel nourishing, reciprocal, and sustaining.

A new reality starts to emerge in your body. “How do I make someone choose me?” gives way to “I allow myself to be seen by men, friends, clients, business partners who already want partnership and are capable of meeting me.”

That sentence is not an affirmation. It becomes a felt sensation your body can return to: I do not have to work this hard to be wanted where I truly belong.

Healthy relationships feel like people becoming more themselves inside the connection that feels supportive for both.

Healthy work feels similar, your gifts are valued, your energy is supported, and the work nourishes everyone involved.

Your body finally gets to rest inside your life because connection no longer depends on changing yourself, over-giving, or carefully managing how you’re perceived.

This is one of the most practical results of secure relating: you have more energy because less of your life is spent trying to turn almost-available people and almost-aligned opportunities into something solid.

Because your nervous system is no longer spending its energy trying to make unavailable people finally choose you, there’s more space for relationships that already feel open, mutual, and easy to exist inside of from the beginning.

There’s also a completely different feeling in your body when you are around people who are already looking for what you naturally bring.

The right relationships, clients, and opportunities recognize YOU, when you let yourself share and express from this state >>> I let myself be seen by people who easily recognize my value.

In the 1:1 sessions and Sanctuary through somatic work, we practice helping your body tolerate that kind of visibility: the kind where you are not performing, persuading, or shrinking, but allowing yourself to be received as you are.

Anytime you start trying to persuade someone to love you, choose you, or recognize your worth, your attention and presence have already left your body.

That’s when your whole system goes into management mode, working overtime to “keep” the connection instead of relaxing into it.

So the practice is to notice the moment you leave yourself to secure someone else, and gently come back before you start abandoning your own needs, standards, or truth.

Healthy relationships, fulfilling work, and supportive opportunities begin with recognition: people naturally feeling a pull toward you while you get to keep the sense that you can stay fully yourself while being wanted, valued, and supported.

In your relationship, you stop auditioning for the role of “low-maintenance woman.” You don’t hide that you like steadiness, kindness, consistency, emotional maturity, or real effort. You let your preferences be visible.

The right person doesn’t experience your standards as pressure; they perceive them as self-respect.

And your body begins to experience standards not as something that will make you lose love, but as something that helps the right love find you.

You stop trying to make your skills or business work for everyone. And that’s when your workday feels cleaner, lighter, more energizing and fulfilling. The people finding you already want what you naturally give.

Your work becomes more about letting the right people feel the depth, care, and steadiness that you already offer.

Your nervous system is no longer fighting itself while you’re trying to connect, speak up, share your work, or be seen.

As your body receives more consistent experiences of acceptance from you, it changes your relational field, who can enter, and who will eventually stay.

This is the deeper change we create: your inner relationship becomes secure enough that unavailable love, unclear work, and one-sided effort no longer feel tempting.

Inside the Sanctuary private practice portal through simple somatic practice that is gentle and enjoyable, your nervous system begins experiencing warmth, support, and healthy connection as something safe to receive and sustain.

Inside, we practice this through body-led teachings, self-connection, and gentle reflections that help you stop reaching for unavailable people or unclear opportunities, and start recognizing the relationships, clients, work, and support that can truly meet you and support you.

And for those desiring more personalized support, individual one-on-one somatic work is also available by application.

In 1:1 somatic work, we slow these patterns down in your body in real time together, so you can notice where you leave yourself to be chosen, meet the younger parts underneath that reaching, and build the inner safety to be seen, valued, and supported without overworking for it.
